Feel free to browse our recommended items or use the links to explore a wider range of products, brands, styles, or colors that meet your preferences. We appreciate your support!

As my blog grows, I hope to find more ideas from different companies. If you know of a handmade vendor that makes horse-themed items, message me their name or tell them about me. I would be glad to support my fellow small business owners.

I went shopping and picked some of my favorite gifts for horse riders or just horse lovers. I tried to pick good brands and fun items my past students had or wanted. I will add to this list frequently, so check back.

Gifts for the horses. Such as a special lesson horse or a special friend’s horse.

When a person takes riding lessons regularly, they may develop a connection with the horse they are assigned to. If you feel inclined, you can ask if you can donate something to the horse’s care. Horses are quite expensive to maintain, and lesson barns always need items to care for them. Some horse gift ideas might include a new halter, a bucket of treats, or fly spray to share with all the lesson horses. Such gifts can be enjoyed by the entire barn.

Halters are always broken or weather-torn. A nice new halter is always a great gift. Ask for the correct size for your lesson horse.

Always ask to give treats to a horse. Some horses have allergies or get nippy when given treats. Your instructor will be able to let you know it’s ok. Horses also love carrots and apples.

Be sure to ask what brand of fly spray the barn uses. Every horse person has their preferred brand. And a lesson barn goes through a lot of it, so any help with fly spray is greatly appreciated!!

Horses love treats:

Consider asking for permission before giving treats to the horse. This is a respectful gesture towards the owner and ensures the animal’s safety and well-being.

Treats are an excellent gift for a new rider. If you are a parent, you can ask the instructor what treats are ok for your child to feed the horses. Doing this avoids disappointment when the treats you picked are not what the instructor wants their horses to have.

Gifts that are suitable for beginner riders?

Horse enthusiasts often enjoy receiving gifts related to horses, especially those they could use while riding. It’s important to remember that most lesson horses have their assigned equipment, so you should check with the instructor before bringing any gift items to the barn. Some items that seem like good gifts may not be appropriate for a new rider. Therefore, I have listed below the items that would be considered suitable to bring to a barn.

When considering buying the saddle pad below, it is important to ensure that your horse does not require a specific pad type. Some students have received these pads with their initials, names, or horse names embroidered on the bottom right corner.

The gloves are designed for kids but can also make great adult gifts. When you click on the pictures that lead to the link, you will find a selection of gloves available. Remember the weather when choosing a pair; some are intended for summer riding, while others are better suited for colder weather. You will also find winter riding gloves available.
